Title: Password..?
Post by: ctbx on February 26, 2003, 12:11:41 AM
First of all, I would like to say "thanks" for making such a great, free anti-virus program. :)

Okay, I installed avast! 4 today (after uninstalling avast! 3) and everything is working great. However, a little while ago I went to look at the On-Access Protection Control window (I double-clicked the tray icon) and a dialog came up asking me to enter my password. Why is that? I was never asked to put in a password at all. I tried leaving it blank but it still said that the password was incorrect. I tried changing the password, but still, "You didn't enter the correct password." ... It wasn't doing this earlier today.

Okay, so, how can I
1.) Reset the password?
2.) Disable password protecting the program altogether?

I have no idea why it's doing this, because it never asked me to input a password in the first place.

I'm using Windows XP Professional, in case you need to know.

Thanks in advance for the help. ;)

Oops :o, this should never happen.
Unless you set the password, the program should never ask for it.

Does it keep happening after reboot?

Thanks
