Title: virus scan from DOS
Post by: colin_90 on December 03, 2004, 10:09:10 PM
as a new convert to Avast, I am wondering how in an emergency you run the scanner from DOS, bearing in mind that DOS cannot see my NTFS partitions? ???

Thanks for that, so I can rely on VRDB in an emergency to scan both Fat32 and NTFS and return files to original state?

Has anybody ever had experience of using that method in an emergency?

You can find more information about VRDB into FAQ in my signature.
VRDB could only 'revert' some kind of infections.
In fact, the list will be the same as in the avast Cleaner application.
Anyway, it will work on FAT32 and NTFS without problem.

Best way of return files to original state: backup, or better, image the HDD  ;)
