Title: Avast 6 6.0.1367.0

Hi All
on avast 6 (6.0.1367.0) which was running fine up untill yesterday. Programe would not update and was highlighted as requiring updating. Tried many times and it gave a message that it was already updated.
Avast is now showing as "Unsecured" and the fix icon does nothing - it wont scan or anything.
Tried to install 7, that falls over
Tried to uninstall 6 and it says setup cannot continue

Any advice appreciated...

Follow the instructions given here:
www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Then make clean install of avast! 7  ;)

Message: Setup fatal error: error reading product data from c:\program files\alwil software\avast5\setup setup cannot continue

I don't want to sound like the devil's advocate but there's a 90% chance this is the work of a virus.

hi can u delete this:

c:\program data\avast software

delete this alwil or avast software folder from there.
