Title: Avast Free latest version
Post by: DoraB2 on February 29, 2012, 08:13:54 AM
I can't upload the latest fee program version and thought I would delete the current one and re-load but I can't delete the version I have at the moment - any ideas?

Download and save this removal tool http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe and a fresh copy of avast 7 then reboot into safe mode and run the tool for all versions of avast you have used in the past, once completed reboot back into normal mode and install your fresh copy of avast.

Avast free 7 version

Sorry, but this did not work for me.  I downloaded a fresh version from cnet (not the stupid partial version that avast directs you to) and ran the uninstall in safe mode,  rebooted.  No joy.  I am giving up and will download AVG Free.

AVG free is ok and all, but their forums suck.

Avast free is a good program and their forums are the best ,
Avira AntiVir  antivirus is good too,  as well as their forums.

to me, if a free antivirus has a lousy and arrogant forum, then their program is no use too
me .

Avast you get a thumbs up !, good forum , good  product. !

Before giving up on avast, please start a new thread. Someone will be along shortly to give you more personal assistance.  :)
It's a lot better than using AVG. We are avast users ourselves and wouldn't like to lose any user without given the chance to help.  :)
