Title: Avast Free update interval
Post by: Pindakaas on March 02, 2012, 02:07:44 PM
I asked this before but i forgot , kinda.

Minimum update interval time is 120 minutes right , for the free version ?

Does it really get a update every 120 minutes then ?

240 minutes is default, and 120 is minimum, correct.  Avast will only get the VPS update if a new one is available at check time.  Normal VPS releases are 2-3 times a day, although I've seen 5 updates in one day.

And in the new version is also the cloud , so more updates a day then version 6 right ?

I mean , allot of malware is made in 1 hour , so pulse updates are kinda needed.

The cloud has streaming updates.  There can be quite a few small streaming updates (or none) between the regular VPS updates.  When a new regular VPS update is installed the previous streaming updates are no longer needed and are removed, as are the previous VPS updates.  This is reflected in AvastUI on the Maintenance | Update tab.
