Title: Avast has stopped scanning mail
Post by: jonzsie on December 07, 2004, 09:57:58 PM
When I first downloaded Avast using Mozilla it was scanning my mail and I could see the blue icon each time in the task bar. I have since downloaded firefox and have recently noticed  the scanning icon isn't  appearing nor is it appearing in mozilla.

I went into internet mail and looked at the configuration and the box is checked showing the icon while scanning. also the boxes are checked for scanning inbound and outbound mail. I checked the boxes inbound and outbound
to insert a clean note. But still there is no note in messages in or out and no icon present while sending and receiving...also looked in message source and no mention of Avast having scanned etc.

It was working to begin with.

YES the mail was set up correctly and was working fine. It wasn't until after I downloaded mozilla thunderbird mail client that I noticed it had stopped working. I re-checked all the settings and they were all correct. Checked my firewall to see that it wasn't blocking Avast and it wasn't plus uninstalled a spyware, worm intrusion blocker I had running encase it was that. Still no luck.

Have solved the program...I uninstalled Avast and reinstalled it and now it is working again.
