Hi,
Why does "About Avast" tell me that my Registration Key expires in January 2005 when I have only recently installed it?
Is it a time limited thing? Does it all stop working then?
Thanks.

What exact version of Avast?
Did you remove/reinstall Avast?
Is your system date/time correct?

Thanks, Eddy,
Avast Home. It's just updated to 4.5.549 (I have rebooted since update).
I did not uninstall/reinstall. This is the first time I have installed it (at least on this machine).
The date and time are currently correct, but it might have been incorrect ( a month out) when I installed it, though I can't be sure. Perhaps that is it.
If you think that this is not normal behaviour, I will investigate further.
If you have any suggestions, I would be grateful.

What happens if you request a new key from the website and enter that one? Preferable use another email address than you did to obtain the current key.

All fine now. Thanks Eddy.
I did not recognise the registration process and I cannot find a registration email - maybe I never registered it in the first place ???

Which would mean that you are on the 60 day trial, which would be about right with your expiry of Jan 2005.
Register it from the website and an email will be sent with your registration key with gives you 14 months free use. Then you need to register again to keep getting the iAVS updates.
