Title: Running a virtualized process through avast UI
Post by: kevbeck on March 19, 2012, 04:58:28 AM
Im attempting to run a virtualized process from a removable drive. It is a HTML document. I noticed that when i select "run a virtualized process" in avast ui, there is a pop up where i can select the folder. By default, it shows avast is looking for a file type of *.exe . Does this mean that avast cannot run a virtualized process of a file other than .exe type? Anyway, in order to open the file i want in the sandbox, i have to select "*.*" for it to populate. And when i select the file to run virtualized, i receive error message "There was a problem sending the command to the program? Can someone tell me why i receive this message? Thank you.

Yes, this option makes it possible to run an application (executable). Opening a document (which doesn't really "run" the document, but starts an associated application to open it) wouldn't work there.
