Title: Should I be concerned about ERROR 42144?
Post by: REDACTED on March 24, 2012, 01:12:44 AM
This is my scan log for the boot scan with avast. Regular full scan with both avast and malwarebytes shows nothing. I can do a fresh install or restore using acronis but I really prefer not to because the amount of time it would take me. (I just realized this is probably the wrong area to post but i dont know how to delete/move it)

Spiker welcome to Avast! forum

Sent iTunes.exe and iTunesHelper.exe to Virus Total to be scanned by 40 or so antimalware scanners to discard F/P.

https://www.virustotal.com/

Error 42144 { OLE archive is corrupted } is just that. Nothing to worry about besides they are located in temp.

the iTunes files detected is probably False positive.....so if anyone could upload to virustotal and check ?

files that can not be scanned are just that, it does not mean they are infected
avast is just telling you it can not scan the file(s) and the reason why...no mor no less..and there is nothing avast can do with it
files detected as malware are given a malware name when detected
