Title: Resident Protection

I'm trying to get Avast to work on an older Compaq Presario.  The box is a pentium running Windows 95 and has 16MB RAM.  I've installed Avast and it can do a system scan just fine, but I can't get the resident protection to work at all.  Any suggestions?

What exactly is the problem?
