Hi,
I'm user of Avast Home (last release ;D), Win XP Pro.
I suppose I've got a virus. I've scaned my hard disks but avast nothing found.
Will be the result diffrent if I do boot-time scan?
Thanx for advice.

Depends on the settings you used to scan. If you did thorough and archive scanning enabled it won't be different.
I suggest you also scan with Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D to remove any malware there may be on your system.
For instructions, click on the link in my signature and do as explained in the malware removal section.

Eddy,
As usual I scan archives and use standard settings...
Thanks again for prompt answer.

Yes, the results could be different.
Boot time scanning can't have all power like the on-demand scanning as the virus unpackers and drivers are not loaded at boot time.
Anyway, boot time is very good when the file (infected) is in use while trying to run on-demand.
So, the answer will be: each scanning method has its pro and con ;)

I have a problem with a boot scan in that my keyboard connects through the USB port. The boot scan starts prior to initiating the USB so I cannot reply to queries from the boot scan. It just sits there waiting for a reply. Any ideas?

When scheduling a boot time scan set the action to 'move infected file' which will move the file to the virus chest without asking, or alturnitivly set the action to 'delete infected file'.

If what Eddy said does not work...
Well, the only change is an good and old PS2 keyboard (it must coast like US$ 8) ;)
