Post by: Ovidiu on April 27, 2012, 09:46:54 AM
currently in my dashboard I see: "Status Unsecured" and below it the details are: http://screencast.com/t/3Ll3HRMq

but actually the realtime shield is on while the mail shield is off: http://screencast.com/t/wybz6lLI

In my case, the dashboard is not reporting all my linked devices.
On the device, it's said that I'm linked to my account. In the account website, the device is not listed...
Sorry, I did not want to hijack your thread...

Hi,

Real-time shields refer to all shields not only the file system shield. It basically says that you have a shield down, which is not good in terms of security.

In my case, the dashboard is not reporting all my linked devices.

If you delete a device from account, the corresponding avast installation will still think it's connected. We don't have this type of notification between server and client, yet.

Regards,
Jan

Ok, so I'll just ignore this then since I'll never need the mail shield. Only using Gmail over https so they are unnecessary I guess.

If you only use the webmail version of gmail (and no other mail account), there is no need to have the mailshield on. It scans only POP3 and IMAP connections.
