Title: GoogleUpdate Exception not "excepting"
Post by: HughDjorgen on May 16, 2012, 03:49:51 PM
I keep getting messages that C:\Program Files\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe is suspicious and running in the Sandbox. I tried to put it into the exception list everywhere but I continue to get the message. I tried to search through the Kbase for answers, but this is either a new issue, or I'm not smart enough to find the answer (and I'm OK with either conclusion).  Thanks for the help.

Can you send this file to www.virustotal.com and check if it is clean? Thanks.

Try setting the AutoSandbox mode to Ask, the next time it interacts with GoogleUpdate.exe, select open normally from the drop down list and check the 'Remember the answer for this program.'

I doubt VT would bring anything up (from avast) as before the autosandbox is initiated by the File System Shield, it would have scanned it and alerted if it were infected.

Me too. Just that other antivirus could say something (I really do not know if that was the default path, so I've suggested this way via virustotal).
