Title: Is mail Shield important ?

Hi everybody ...
You can see from the picture that mail shield is not scanning, and I use windows live mail,yahoo and gmail on a daily basis
do I need to configure it ?

the mail shield only work if you use a mail client and download your mail to the computer.... like outlook / outlook express / thunderbird.......

if you use Webmail then it is scanned as normal web traffic by the webshield

Microsoft protect all MSN / Hotmail / Livemail accounts with Trend Micro AV
Yahoo use Norton
Gmail use postini spam virus filter with twin AV engines from Authentium and McAfee

Hotmail / Livemail will not be scanned unless you sett it up as a POP3 account........ the default DeltaSync will not be scanned  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotmail#DeltaSync


Yahoo and Gmail is SSL accounts   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Socket_Layer

that means you have to sett it up like this to work
