Title: Internet Download Manager and Avast main window PopUp
Post by: L-Kabong on May 27, 2012, 04:30:50 PM
I am using Avast Pro (7.0.1426) and I am using a program called Internet download Manager (6.11)

In the setting there is a place to  have a virus checking program to scan the downloaded items. I put in the correct Avast program path but now every time a file has completed downloading the Avast program will pop up. The pop up is not simply the notification screen it's the main interface window.
This is getting really annoying and would like to avoid seeing it pop up the main Avast program window.

Is it necessary for Avast to be connected through the program, wouldn't Avast scan any downloaded files anyways or not?

That is because you haven't put in the correct path, it isn't to the program, but the full path to ashQuick.exe.

OK I have reset the path to what you suggested and now ... No more pop ups.

Thank You.

I didn't know about that other exe for avast and had no idea what it's for but I know I don't see the main Avast window pop up any more.

So just what does ashQuick do?

You're welcome.

It is the context menu (right click menu) scanner, that is being used to complete the scan.
