Title: Avast for MAc
Post by: ragtag on June 05, 2012, 10:17:01 PM
I have a MacBook Air which I think is infected. Just about every time I go to facebook after a few minutes (or seconds sometimes) I get abruptly redirected to another website. Lately that other site is crackle.com. In the past it has been to something called rugged.com or therugged.com. I have clamx installed but it finds nothing. I tried the Mac version of Avast, which I understand is in beta. A full scan gives me some warnings, but what do I do about those warnings? The program's preferences offer no options to isolate them. Some of the warnings refer to a "decompression bomb" which I researched and those may or may not actually be problems.

Some of the warnings refer to a "decompression bomb"
it means there is a archive that will unpack to a very large file...... so avast will not unpack and scan it
use forum search for more info

what other warnings ?.......
scan errors are not the same as detections.....avast will only take actions on infected file(s)
