Title: Privacy of Cloud and Reputation checking
Post by: jayk119 on June 22, 2012, 01:16:27 AM
I'm very concerned about the information Avast collects about me... How can I use it as a virus scanner get cloud updates without sending any information of my online activity to them?

You mean annonimous security related data of infection, malware and clean executables... Hmmm... Do you really think there is a privacy issue on that?
You can read the privacy policy but, after all, if you don't trust your security vendor (and I'm an avast! user for the last 10 years...) you shouldn't use its program at all. avast! is not a company that need personal user information and respect your fully privacy.

If by "cloud updates" you mean "streaming updates", then I don't think they are connected to your "online activity" in any way at all.
