« on: January 06, 2005, 09:35:06 AM »
Hi,
Is it possible to install ADMN using SQL Server (not MSDE) installed on Small Business Server 2003 Premium version ?
Wich version I have to download to do that ?

Sure.
Just download the version without MSDE, and when asked for SQL Server details, fill in the name of your SBS server and valid sa credentials. :)

BTW for really small networks (<10 nodes), MSDE may actually be wiser choice though...

40 Mo of ram per MSDE instance I am not sure it is a good way. I prefer to give more cache ram to my main SQL Server instance than to spend ram on 2 ou 3 instance of MSDE especially on small number of PC around SBS. In this case SBS is not full of ram :)

I just finish my install on SQL Server I run AMS Consol and I don't have anything on the list of Server to login. What is the trouble ?
Thank's for first answer.
Best Regards.

Detect servers does nothing? (doesn't put anything in the drop-down list next to the Server address label?)

Anyway, try using the following values:

Server name: localhost
(this assumes you're running the console directly on the server)
Username: Administrator
Password: admin

Thx
