invalid email address

reprogramed my pc reinstaled avast now when i try to register it tells me invalid email address.WHY

How exactly did you "reprogram" your pc?

A clean install on the pc. I have done several  avast reinstall , and still zip

Using my real email doesn't work,but a fake email does. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AVAST

Needing to resort to clean install is kind of a last resort.  I'd like to hear why that was needed, and what sort of clues you can give that would help to resolve your issue. 

It is a lot of work to bring an OS up to snuff, what with necessary security updates and all.  Very annoying too, that.

Doing a clean install is one clue.  Having to use a fake email address is another.  DSL modem is clean and not infected?
