About submitting a sample

I have a question about submitting a sample to the virus lab, when you do it through the right click contex menu when the file is in the chest, is it acctualy uploaded to the virus lab when avast updates? or when you manually update at that moment? The reason I am asking is because it seems everytime that I do upload it that way the signatures are never added even a few days out even after the file has been shown as malicious on VT. I know the virus lab is very busy I was just wondering. Cheers and happy holidays!

If you submit a sample throught chest it's uplauded directly to the lab during update (after in fact). You can do a manual update you'll see the submission progress
I did many submissions from chest and many of them were detected with streaming updates.
But now, I prefer email submissions to it.
