Avast infected with Trojan(s)-Error: Access is denied (5)
« on: February 14, 2013, 10:56:58 PM »
Hello,

I have been running Avast for years without any problems. My HP computer has been getting slower as time goes by and I did some checking. I ran a full virus scan with Avast and it came up with 8 instances of Threats. First threat on my C: drive was a Java:Malware-gen (Trj). I have 3 other threats: Win32:Malware-gen, also on the C drive. My back up 2 TB drive also has a Threat:Java:Malware-gen (Trj) and also 3 other  Win32:Malware-gen. In each instance after I attempt to move to chest, I get, Error: Access is denied (5)

Avast obviously has been infected and cannot move these viruses to the chest. What can be done to rectify this problem without wiping and reloading Windows 7.

 Thank you. Larry. Wichita, KS.
