Avast 4.6.623 and limited rights account

Hi,

my PC:
Win XP SP2 home (all patches), Avast home 4.6.623, surfing with Modem, IE and the XP-Firewall activated  (no external Firewall like Zone Alarm etc.)

When I'm surfing with administrator rights, everything is fine.

Following problem when I'm surfing with limited rights account:
Some sites don't load completely (i.E. http://web.de)

Note: I installed Avast 4.6.623 as an real administrator (XP home: pressing F8 while booting, start in safe mode ... ), not as a user with administrator rights.

Thank you for any help!

Manni

Does disabling the webshield solves it?

I also run WinXP SP2 in a limited user account, and that web page (and all others) loads OK for me in IE.  I also installed avast! as Administrator, but not using safe mode.  Also, I gave Power User rights to the Alwil Software program folder.  (I routinely do this, since a lot of programs store settings or at least log files in the program folder.)

But I do not use the WinXP firewall, since I have a hardware router.

Disabling the webshield doesn't solve it.

Sometimes the site http://web.de is ok, sometimes not (it depends on the advertisement on the site, which is changing every minute).

Are you sure that it's avast who is blocking the page to load?
Do you use any pop-up blocker? Your browser allows pop-ups?
Is this advertisement safe (not infected)?

I'm using the build-In Popup-Blocker of IE (XP-SP2). I don't think, that the sites are infected.
Remember:
1. Surfing as a user with administrator rights works!
2. I have verfied the problems with limited user account also  on another computer (also WinXPSP2, IE, no extra Firewall etc.)

If you disable WebShield, will it help?

Disable the providers one at a time. After shutting down one, try to surf. Let us know if it is just one provider that is causing this or not.

First, I disabled the webshield and made a restart: Now surfing with limited rights account works !!!
So to my opinion there is still a problem with the webshield.

Then I made a try with  http://cat.asw.cz/misc/ashwebsv.zip     and enabled the webshield again :
http://web.planet.nl/planetdownload  works fine with limited rights account.
but
http://web.de sometimes (!) loads uncompletely with limited rights account !

Is there any possibility that WebShield has crashed? If so, it should have created a file unpXXXXX.mdmp in C:\Program files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Data\Log. Please, send the most recent to rypacek@asw.cz

If the case is so that your Windows crashed to BSOD, it should have created a minidump into C:\Windows\Minidump folder. You can send it for analysis too. Again the latest version of them (if there are more than one).
