Printing pdf files

I am running Avast Home 4.6.652

I am able to print pdf files which are located locally on the computer, but when I try to print a pdf file from or via a web page my pc locks up.

What is your operating system?
What is your browser and Acrobat version?
Does it help when you stop avast! Web Shield? (or its resident protection completely, if not?)

Windows xp    SP2
Internet Explorer 6.0 sp2
Acrobat Reader  7.0

When I shutoff resident protection  Able to print a web based pdf file

Strange...

If you stop only Web Shield and keep the other providers running, does printing works as well?
Can you print other things (I mean, from other applications, not from Acrobat)?
What printer do you have? (I mean, is it a network printer, or USB/LPT one?)
Does the problem happen for all PDF files (if you tried more of them), or just a specific one?
