few avast on android questions
« on: April 15, 2013, 09:59:41 AM »
Hello I got a android 4.0 tablet its a nextbook and i am wondering is it recommended to use an antivirus on android?
Few more questions below
1. If it is recommended what for?
2. Would avast slow down it turning on and stuff
3. Avast can't lock any locations on the tablet can it.. like sd/blah/blah
4. Can avast be uninstalled from the tablet very easy?

Sorry for the questions but i just want to know if i should have an AV on android and i don't want anything to mess up or change the settings to lock any file or location on the tablet i would hate to have this tablet messed up.
Oh I thought i should tell you guys it isn't a phone it is a tablet computer

Hello,

1. If it is recommended what for?
of course we recommend our android tool to be used on tablets too. you even get an own tablet layout.
We recommend it to protect your device from malware, keep your data private, surf safer on the tablet, find it if you lost the device and so on. check here for a feature overview: http://www.avast.com/free-mobile-security

2. Would avast slow down it turning on and stuff
on very old devices there might be an impact on performance. we are very caring for the ressources of our customers and try to use as few as possible. on startup I haven't found any delays. of course if you install an app - it has to be checked first. but that's done in seconds.

3. Avast can't lock any locations on the tablet can it.. like sd/blah/blah
no, we don't offer this feature.

4. Can avast be uninstalled from the tablet very easy?
we do offer uninstall protection.

just give it a try - it's free anyway!

have a nice day,

Werner

Hi,

you mean on the SD card/storage? That should be ./Android/data/com.avast.android.mobilesecurity . You should see only one text file there with activity log.
