NOT GETTING HELP IN A FORUM
« on: July 10, 2013, 07:23:29 PM »
So I've posted 2 questions in the Browser Cleanup Tool Forum...the first one was right in the welcome forum on page 2/3 and got no help there and so then I posted my question out in the open so everyone could see my question thinking maybe I was supposed to post it here...wasn't sure as I'm a newbie...I've gotten no help in there either. Is there a way to contact the Moderator of that group so maybe he can help me? Not sure what else to do here. If anyone has any suggestions I sure would appreciate them.

Thanks so much  ;)

OK it looks as though the uninstall may have gone pear shaped.  So we will do that again using the right tools.  After that we will look at the chrome problem

Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

  • Run aswClear
  • It will offer to reboot to safe mode .. Accept that

  • Once it has rebooted to safe mode
  • In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
  • Press Uninstall
  • Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
  • Reinstall Avast

Ok...I have a problem...I tried to install the Uninstall Utility and I got as far as clicking the the execute button on the bottom left of my laptop but after that it didn't do anything as I was waiting for it to at least tell me to restart or something...so I just hit the restart button and forced the close and hit my f8 til I went into safe mode and nothing is there. Am I doing something wrong?

Ok I did it again and just let it sit there and it just pulled up the screen to restart it and I put it in safemode...once it was in safemode it already had the one I must have had one my laptop because its all removed from my laptop now. So now I have to choose the correct one I want is that right? Because underneath all you have listed you mention to uninstall all over again and to install ASWClear is that correct?

I reinstalled a new Avast and it seems to be working better now...I had options that I didn't have before so it seems to all good now. Just one question the uninstaller that I downloaded is that still in my downloads somewhere or was that a one time thing? And what about that aswcleaner?

It is just a utillity that removes some things that are not deleted through control panel > software > avast > uninstall
