E-mail module problem
« on: April 22, 2005, 08:33:08 AM »
Yesterday I installed Avast Home Edition, and the e-mail module doesn't work, in the window of avast the e-mail module icon is gray, and the message of its status is "Waiting for module start", I try to start the module, but I have an error: "MAPI Error"

What is that?

How can I activete the e-mail module?

I use: Outlook 6, IE 6, Win XP Home Edition, Zone Alarm 4.5.594 Free edition

Chau,

thanks

The Outlook providor only starts when Outlook is running.

Do you see a splash screen for avast! when you start outlook?

If you use Outlook Express, you are not protected by "Outlook/Exchange", but rather by "Internet Mail".

Only Microsoft Office Outlook (not to be confused with Outlook Express) is protected by the Outlook provider. Therefore, the Outlook provider will only start when Outlook is running.

As vojtech says, Outlook Express will be protected by the Internet Mail provider.
