I'm still having a problem with Avast IS v9.0 running programs in the Sandbox on my desktop Windows XP Home SP3 machine although it has been thoroughly uninstalled in Safe Mode using avastclear.exe and reinstalled twice. If I select "Run in Sandbox" from the Sandbox window or from the program shortcut, any program (e.g., Firefox) runs fine but there is no indication that it is sandboxed.
To make sure it wasn't the fault of Avast IS I installed it on my 11 year old old laptop running Windows XP Home SP3. That machine had no problem with running processes in a sandbox, the program window showing a blue line around it and a tab telling me it was running in a sandbox and the Avast Sandbox window showing that the process is running. This does not happen with the desktop machine.
Please, has anybody any idea why this could be happening with my desktop machine with exactly the same up-to-date Windows XP, whilst the Sandbox feature works perfectly on the laptop.
