Internet Problem after upgrade

Ever since the upgrade to the new 2014 edition of Avast, it seems to be blocking my internet connection to my home wireless router.

I know this because it worked fine with the 2013 edition and other anti-virus programmes.

Also it works on other internet connections, but not on my main one. I have to turn off the firewall for my internet to work. Is there anyway to get it to work with the firewall on as I know this is an important part to online security.

I'm having the same problem.  I can't get on the internet after upgrading to Avast 2014.  I've gone back to a previous version, and got straight onto the internet fine.

Help, is there an easy fix for this ?? !!!!

Does the free version have a firewall? I have the free version.

Forgot to say, as well as being blocked from going onto the internet, I then find that my computer has crashed and I can't get into the task manager or anything so have to turn the laptop off manually.
