Starware
« on: June 16, 2005, 10:29:58 AM »
I have Windows 98 - have since changed to Optus DSL from Dial Up - Have your free anti-virus, Adaware, Spybot, and Sygate Personal Firewall - all are kept up to date.  From nowhere, about 10 days ago a toolbar appeared calling itself Stargate.  Have tried all the basic removals - Add/Install - removing tick from Stargate etc.  It JUST WON'T GO AWAY.  PLEASE HELP.  Puss Puss

Hello pusspuss,
So, is it "Starware" (as mentioned in the title) or "Stargate" (as mentioned in your post)?
If it is the first, see if this helps: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.starware.html

So sorry I got carried away and referred to STARGATE in my text!  Thank you people for your help.  I actually received a reply from the Feedback section AND IT WORKED.  Much better than the 5 A4 pages on the site.  There were only 6 moves.  pusspuss
