Weird issues with Avast Internet Security
« on: January 23, 2014, 03:53:04 AM »
I'm currently using Avast Internet Security version 2014.9.0.2011 on a Windows 8 64 bit system. Ever since i installed it, my computer has gotten a lot slower, and a lot of the time i can't wake it up from sleep mode and/or my mouse stops responding. And then i have to restart my computer by using the power button on the tower, and i know that's not a good thing to do. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? And more importantly, how i can fix it?

Thanks!

Well, first, there is a new version available >> http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=145192.0

but more importantly, what other security software are you running?  Do you have any other antivirus on your system?

Hi Adrian!

I downloaded and installed the new version last night. I'm also running AdAware and Malwarebytes, although i don't believe that Malwarebytes is even active on my computer anymore.

Thank you!

AdAware is an antivirus and shouldn't be on the system with avast installed, Malwarebytes is fine to use.

Ah, i thought AdAware was just a spyware program and not an anti-virus. Thanks!
