I am using Avast Free, regularly updated on Win XP. I am using prepaid internet with limited data upload/download. The charges of ISP beyond the data limits are exorbitant.
I tried to create Avast Rescue CD last month. It started downloading 'Toolkit', the download exceeded 360 MB & still the progress bar remained at less than 10%.
Again I tried a few days ago, downloaded more than 400 MB and still the progress bar showed between 12-15%.
In both cases I had to cancel & abort the process as I could not afford to exceed the data limit of my Internet package.

SUGGESTION:
I suggest that Avast give a prior Warning of the approximate size  of total data download involved ?. Then, one can decide if one has sufficient data balance available.

QUESTIONS:
-In case of CD, a new UPDATED one has to be created everytime. Will this involve heavy data download everytime I create a new rescue cd?
- Is it possible to use Avast Rescue Image in a Multi-Boot CD ? How ? Which Multi-Boot Software is best ?

Most iso images are huge. This one will be over 500meg according to
http://www.avast.com/en-us/faq.php?article=AVKB114
Since this article says to use CD, and not DVD, the size will be no bigger than 700 MB

When you download through a browser, doesn't the SAVE dialog show the filesize? Or perhaps look on the Download tab? Opera and SeaMonkey show the size. Don't know about IE.

Regarding your other questions, my GUESS is that an upgrade will require a new one.
Multiboot? Don't know, don't think so. Read the link, they tell exactly how to use it.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, jbastik :)

What about Endpoint users.  Is there a URL to the ISO anywhere?

I've tried to download the CD .iso for Rescue Disk 2014 now, but it's a waste of data. After 30 min the progress bar is still on about 15% but over 700MB data used so far. A CD holds 700MB, so what is the real download size?
