Firefox sync issue
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:18:26 PM »
Is there anybody else who is facing, each day, this annoyance from Firefox?
If I reboot without closing Firefox, or even hibernate, next day, Firefox sync does not work.
Is it only me?

I always shut down my system at night and that includes first closing browsers, explorer, etc.

But I haven't had any issue on my desktop XP Pro system.

My win7 netbook just goes into standby and if the browser happens to be open it stays that way, my last sync was a couple of minutes ago when I woke it out of standby/sleep and viewed the browser. This system however, doesn't have the beta build if this might be an issue.

Well, seems nobody gave a penny for this thread...
Maybe test this:

The Sync version used in Firefox 34 and later uses the password manager to store the name (e-mail) and password to be used to connect to the Sync server. The chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in the password manager stores the authentication data (kA and kB) in JSON format. Previous Firefox versions stored this data in the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder, but the current version only stores the sessionToken in this file and needs the password manager for the password, so you need to log in at the start of each new session.

Not really related to your first post, but I have just been notified about the new firefox sync recently.

If loaded the detailed instructions on what to do, you have to unlink sync on the devises they are installed and then create a new account and presumably link them to your firefox account.

Well that royally screwed up not only do I no longer have access to my old sync account but I get a blank page when trying to get started/sign-in.
