Shopper pro - Trojan.Gen.2
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:53:37 AM »
Hi,

Yesterday I downloaded some free file converter and, yes, it came together with some problems...

I removed some bad stuff, but now, when I turn on my computer, Symantec says that it has quarantined file "shopperpro.exe". Plus I get message from Windows (check screenshot below)

In order to remove it, I tried to download "Farbar Recovery Scan Tool" 32-Bit version, but when I tried to run my Symantec suggested that I can't trust this file. I didn't even try 64-Bit version.

I have run out of options, so what should I do?

There should be no malware on your system except you ran the file.

FRST is totally safe, these virus alerts are happening all the time when they get updated, its not only Symantec.

Run Malwarebytes first and attach log

Then turn off Norton/symanetc before downloading FRST ..

Yeah, FRST works fine.

After scanning, what should I do?

What's the main idea for using FRST? I typed "shopperpro.exe" and made the scan, FRST created some .txt file, but what I have to do it after that?

And I still get the same notification from Windows & Symantec that's in the screenshot even though I am not running that file.
