Windows keeps telling me that Avast has been turned off
« on: November 06, 2014, 02:54:44 PM »
I'm using Windows 8 (8.1) and I keep getting pop up messages telling me that Avast has been turned off.

Not sure WHY this happens but it seems to happen often lately.

Scans don't reveal anything abnormal but that doesn't reassure me.

Any help on this issue? I wonder if I have some malware that I can't detect.

It's a bug from Windows OS. Happens in Windows XP,7, and in 8.1. Where the security center doesn't recognize antivirus software properly! Disable your avast for few minutes around 5 minutes and turn it back on.
