SMS remote control cannot send text messages. When I choose a command such as lock, or siren, or locate, or message, I am asked to enter a target phone number, then the avast! PIN, and then in a green box at the bottom...I click on "SEND SMS". I get an error message that says, "Can not send SMS (0)." No matter how many times I try, I cannot solve this problem. Note: If I send a message the standard way (to the phone number without using sms remote control), such as texting my avast! PIN with the word LOCK in the format xxxx lock, this does actually work. I just cannot send messages via the sms remote control. Does anyone have any clue as to why I am getting this error message or have similar issues? Thanks in advance.
Update 1: I have since "turned off" Hangouts google program. SMS remote control still throws the same message.
Update 2: Tried changing every setting known to man. No dice. Performed a factory reset. Apps came back automatically as they were backed up. Tried SMS remote control. Still doesn't work. I also tried to send a test SMS under the settings for "enable anti-theft". It threw out the same error code. "0".
Next step is to go to best buy (I have their insurance for two years), and have the Geek Squad trade my phone in.
Theory: My speakerphone was not working due to downloading the VIBER application. My hunch is that there is an application that is blocking my sms
messages. I am hoping to either get another factory phone, or maybe KITKAT 4.4.1 will fix these issues. Note: My brother has the exact same phone. His SMS remote is working perfectly. 1
