Re-naming program version number
« on: December 17, 2014, 01:21:57 PM »
Hi guys! It's just my thoughts/feedback/suggestion/idea to Avast Team :) (See attachment). Currently next to program version it says. Program version: 2015.10.0.2208 can it be re-named to 2015.10.0.2208 (SP1). Same goes for when you go open up Avast GUI and click on settings and on the left hand side click on update. Under program heading it says this (see attachment).

Current version: 2015.10.0.2208

Change to this:

Current version: 2015.10.0.2208 (SP1)

Again, this is just my thoughts/feedback/suggestion/idea. So users can even know what program version they have installed and which service pack is it.

Goodnight y'all  :)

2208 is 2208 whether or not the "SP1" is there or not.

2208 is 2208 whether or not the "SP1" is there or not.

Avast 2015 SP1 was spread over a few builds, first, 10.0.2207, the final being 10.0.2208.

I bookmark new releases for easy access/referral.

Personally I don't think that there is much that can be said other than what has already been said.

Since SP1 was spread over three build numbers it would introduce confusion if it were annotated at the end of all three build number covering it.

I really am not convinced avast should ever have introduced SP1 into the equation - if you equate the term 'SP1' to the only other area most have heard of, MS Operating systems and these SPs were massive changes for the most part. Whilst this avast SP1 was essentially some bug fixes.
