BlackElement.exe
« on: July 18, 2015, 09:01:27 AM »
Hey

I wanted to start using my old mouse again that's called Tt eSPORTS Black Element. Avast seems to block the file called BlackElement.exe. Take a look at the attached file. Keskeytä = Cancel/Stop, Yritä uudelleen = Try again, Ohita = skip, Määritettyä tiedostoa ei löydy = The specific file is not found. I can skip the problem, but then the installation finishes and nothing actually happens. The software doesn't open because I guess the .exe file is in quarantine. Now I have tried to make exceptions. I can't add the Setup.exe to the list for some reason. Then again, I have tried to remove the 'suspicious' files from quarantine but that doesn't help, the files do not appear to be in their folder after that. The only way I get the software installed is to turn off my antivirus, but when I turn it back on, the software disappeares again and I can't use it. So, I need some help with this. What can I do? Do I have to change my antivirus program? Lol

That's the homepage of the manufacturer. I'd like to point out that I had this software on my PC for many years, and back then I also had avast, but there was no problem like this. And yes, I have always downloaded the installation file from same page.

You can report a possible FP here: https://www.avast.com/contact-us.php?subject=VIRUS-FILE

I just reported it as a False Positive. Does this mean I should be able to use the software in the near future?

If the FP is confirmed and fixed by the virus lab, yes.

Usually they are quick to correct an FP when confirmed - since you have had this on your system for some time - if you are confident and accept the risk you could add the file to the avastUI > Settings > General - scroll down and expand the Exclusions section.
