Cannot update

Avast Home has been working fine but since 21/12 it won't update. I've run HJT and that is clear, but it shows one programme running as this:-

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\setup\avast.setup

I presume that is the file that is blocking the auto updates? If so, how do I get that to action itself please?!

I suspect there is an easy answer....

Nearly right, this file isn't blocking the updates, rather your firewall (which is?) is blocking this file, there by blocking updates.

This file only exists when an update is being done (not a problem) so if you look for it in this location outside of an update you won't find it.

There was a program update at or about that time and your firewall may have detected a change in avast.setup so asked permission (which you may have blocked).

Yes that's it.You only have to allow it in your firewall and avast! should update.BTW Welcome to the forum! :)
