« on: January 02, 2016, 09:03:28 PM »
Best wishes for 2016!
Has time come to upgrade my pc safely to W10 coming from W8.1?

Kind regards, Hermie

Upgrading is never safe.
There is always something that can go wrong.
Make sure you have a backup.

Well interestingly, One of my LT's (HP compaq Pro) I bought new with xp Pro factory installed.
I subsequently installed W8 Preview when it first came out and then purchase License. This LT has been upgraded to it's existing OS; W 8.1 64 Bit.
Now I just starting getting W10 Recommended Upgrade notice almost every time I open IE 11

I'm thinking before I go ahead, I should offer up my first born son to the Upgrade Gods before going ahead.  ;D

Morning guys, thanks for the replies.

What to backup, how to perform?

If something does not work out just fine during the upgrading process do I have the option to easily return to Windows 8.1?

Enjoy your weekend! Best, Hermie

What to backup is up to you.
Think about data as documents, holiday pictures, bookmarks and such.

If you can easily revert depends on what goes wrong.
There is only one way to tell and that is if things have gone wrong.
