Why adding unnecessary add on without user consent?
« on: March 01, 2016, 06:41:44 AM »
Like all , you too started this practice.
Why safe price and safe zone were added to the avast program without user content. There was no option to check it out.
Avast could update on definitions, but without consent, and no body harbors to read the total service contract, these kind of injections is uncalled for.
If i try to delete the exe file, i am alerted with no permission. Who has given the avast to inject these programs.
Avast off late has become a annoying experience. why cannot you get user consent before installing those products indirectly.
If nobody anwers then, this topic would be immersed in the depth of threads.

Prior to install avast. Avast gives you consent to do a full install or a custom install. Once you double click the avast installation file you will see at the bottom center saying custom install and it's got a few optional program such as google chrome which is ticked. What are you talking about Avast could update on definitions, but without consent. Updating definitions is the most important thing in antivirus software to keep your computer protected against the latest threats. I suggest you keep it as Automatically update. Also prior to install Avast, Avast gives you an EULA to read it.

some people just dont know how to do custom install and always go for the express install, which is basically telling the installer to install everything packaged in it. This is how you get alot of PuPs installed onto your pc.

Also if people don't read the EULA they should not complain afterwards if something is (automatically) installed what they don't want.
They could have know it upfront.

Hi , I installed the program by selecting custom installation. I never ticked the safe price or safe zone.
It was installed after installing the regular avast . I do not talk about definition update.
But somehow, i got those two programs auto injecting in the course of running.
Would you please give advise how to get rid of these.
Moreover, if i disable shield for 1 hr, at the end of that hour, avast, just enabled the shield, but with it all the things, whether one  disabled web and other shield. I just enabled the file shield, but on avast starting after disabling shields, all becomes enabled. How it could happen? I have disabled the other shield , but avast auto enable those. This is a kind of update during running. I never used express install while selecting the install options.
Try it yourself and then reply

Go to Programs and Features - click to uninstall Avast - on the following screen choose Change - untick features not required ( mostly everything in the centre column is not required )

How to get rid of them it's simple. Just see the video that I have provided. Why you want to disable the shields and for what reason?

Hi, Eddy, The program is injected as an add on . Not found in the list of custom install. Hope you understand
Hi, staticguy, Why i disabled some shield means, that it takes proxy settings to get some ports. File shield is what now i am bothering.

Check your browser extensions and see if it's listed in there. If it is, uninstall it from your browser.
