Trying to do a smart scan and malware is popping up?
« on: October 04, 2016, 02:28:43 PM »
I am trying to do a smart scan and when I go to cleanup a malware popup keeps coming up and
saying to send a monthly payment and it looks like the avast logo and it wants my name and credit card or paypal.
I think its malware it was sent by cleverbridge /AVAST software s.r.o.
                                                no-reply@cleverbridge.com
I called and spoke to a tech yesterday before I looked at this real close and he told me to uninstall the avast and reinstall
which I did.  It still keeps popping up.  I would like to send the attachment to advast and have them look at it.  Where would I
send it to?  Someones thoughts or ideas would be helpful.  Thanks  Ed

Contact avast here > https://support.avast.com/support/tickets/new

cleverbridge is used by avast for payment and is not malware, unless you have a fake popup

you may post a screenshot here

Part of the smart scan is checking for things that can (should) be removed.
That is the CleanUp part from avast.
You can get to see a ad for it if you haven't got a license for it.

In the paid version of avast you can disable these ads.

If you don't have a license for CleanUp, check the installed components.
If it is installed, remove it.
