This detection has been turned off back in January :)
I suggest turning shields off, then updating, then turning the shields back on ;)

A virus can sometimes pose as an executable, here AvastEmUpdate.exe, that then could be detected at start-up.

At the moment nothing reports this executable as a (potential) virus at VT: http://www.freefixer.com/library/file/AvastEmUpdate.exe-123120/
Check whether it comes properly signed:

This file has a valid digital signature.

Signer name   AVAST Software a.s.
Certificate issuer name   DigiCert High Assurance Code Signing CA-1
Certificate serial number   0ef5eca7bd31cfc3a7f8e6259b423359

Also read why it was detected as a false positive by Bitdefender earlier here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=107708.0

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
