Manual blocking of urls with Avast Premier

Sorry, I've looked through the FAQs and can't find specific instructions on how to block urls annoying me with pop-up videos.  Just point me to the appropriate topic in your information concerning this issue and I'll read through it.  I suspect this activity to be under the Firewall, but not sure.  I use Mozilla and have tried various plug-ins to remedy this situation but they either don't work or cause other problems I don't wish to deal with.
