Quite agree with you there, it is just AS not paying attention to abuse going on on their wires (servers) that keeps these abuse schemes going on.
The heads-up serves two goals, alerting Word Press site owners/hosters that they should pay more attention to securing their websites against this, and making all us here aware about on what parts of the Interwebs we should be extra careful. We should avoid such places.
Just like parents teaching their children how the child should cross a road in a safe way,
we should teach folks how to better secure the WWW infrastructure. Better learn it at an early age.
