Are these false positives.
« on: March 25, 2017, 11:06:18 PM »
I've encountered the following error messages when i boot up my system.
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\p...
infection: IDP.ALEXA.61       AND

C:\windows\system32\mshta.exe
infection: IDP.GENERIC

My system is Windows 7, 64bit, Avast network security, Malwareytes Pro, CCleaner

When I run Avast, Malware bytes, and CCleaner nothing shows up as bad, at least to me.

Are they bad and if so how can I get rid of them.

Thanks, hhandy

hi hhandy,

Welcome to the forums.

IDP.ALEXA.61 appears to be an AVG detection as does IDP.GENERIC.

Avast network security not a known product, at least not here.  Do you mean Avast Internet Security?

OK.

Now you've to run a couple of diagnostic programs and wait for a malware expert to work with you.

Attach your basic diagnostic logs. (MBAM, FRST)

:) I ran 'Malwarebytes anti-rootkit tool' and that seems to have gotten rid of the problem. I've done several scans since and it appears my system is clean now.
