Spywarequake Problems
« on: March 28, 2006, 11:02:31 PM »
Hi...

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or has been asked 100 times...

My PC has been 'infected' with what I presume is adware... I've got a pop up from my task bar telling me that my computer is infected with a virus, it comes from a icon titled 'virus alert'... the pop up will appear every couple of mins, its like a pop up telling me I have updates available or avast has been updated.  when i click in the pop up it loads on the spywarequake website.

Also The spywarequake V2 keep getting installed on my...  and my internet security setting keep getting reduced and I get warnings from avast saying trojans are being detected...

I've run a complete scan of my computer using avast but it found nothing..

Any help anyone can provide will be very much appreciated, if you need more details just tell me what you need...

As you might be able to tell, I have limited PC knowledge...

Thanks

Rob

Hi RobDipper,

There is a removal tool for it here:

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
