Avast no longer runs

So I just noticed that Avast isn't running on one of my systems.  I looked in the Application Eventlog and found following.  Is there an Avast problem, or is the computer infected?  What are my options?

Select your operating system (you didn't say) and follow instructions.

Post back with results.

Be sure to reboot your system at least two times to see if Repair sticks.

Yep, that seems to have fixed it.  Thanks for the quick response.

By any chance do you know what gw.sys is?  It seems to be reported as malware, but avast doesn't flag it.
