In the old days rattling doors went by unnoticed, if there was no complaint filed, same as with port-scanning. Now even reporting on an insecurity can land you into deep trouble. Malware is the best excuse for a lot of illegal things that go around, or say you are a researcher, and do this only for educational purposes.
