Avast Premier won't Install
« on: June 04, 2019, 05:35:12 PM »
I have free antivirus.  UI will not open.  I get:  "UI Failed to load.  This is really embarrassing.
Your protection is running, but the UI is having a really bad day."

I purchased Premier in October 2018 but it never installed.  Now when I try to install, I get "You are trying to install an older version than the one currently installed.  If you really want to install such a version, please uninstall the current version first.

Why would Premier be an older version?  So should I uninstall freebie?  Will I lose all my passwords?

If you still have the Avast Premier installation file from October 2018, then it would be out of date.

You can find download locations for on-line and off-line installations here - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=227342.0.

1.  With the latest version in theory you should be able to install it over the free version.
2.  The error window displayed, could have meant that the installation failed, with the resulting UI failure.
3.  Considering you purchased Avast Premier in October 2018, unless you purchased a license for two (or three) years, that license would have expired one year after purchase ?

What passwords are you talking about ?
