anyone ever heard of this one??????? :o

Removing rootkits without compromising system integrity is particularly challenging and needs to be done with care. Our free software, Sophos Anti-Rootkit, finds and removes any rootkit that is hidden on your computer.

You haven't heard of them because Sophos doesn't really speacilize in home user products, their antivirus product is mostly for businesses/enterprises.

They used to Make a Antivirus Product for Mac years ago in Mac OS 8.x days, it was good and was sold to end users but was discontinued when they switched their focus toward the enterprise

I hope not because rootkit revealer doesn't clean/delete it only lists potenital problems, not all of which are rootkits.

The GUI is much the same as Rootkit Revealer with the addition of a Clean Up Checked Items button.

For the single item it found on my computer, a hidden file in the the Temporary Internet Files, it recommended to not remove it.  After using Clean Up and scanning again with Sophos the hidden file was no longer detected.
